As 2023 comes to a close Lyme Regis was able to breath a big sigh of relief when Broad Street was fully reopened to traffic on Monday December 18th.
Emergency scaffolding had been promptly erected on November 8th when parts of the historic Middle Row, (Bell Cliff Café and other premises), fell onto the road.
It took an agonising 40 days for the experts to assess the damage and make temporary repairs.
Meanwhile businesses, locals, transport, and visitors were all affected.
A full repair of the historic building will be scheduled for the autumn of 2024.
