Every July 4th – USA Independence Day – the Society flies the Stars and Stripes on Woodville, Silver Street.
During WW2 this house was the HQ of “C” Company, 16th Infantry Regiment who led the assault landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day.
A visiting passer-by from Portsmouth took great interest, noting that there were many remains of wartime military buildings near his home overlooking Portsmouth.
